OUR LEARNING
This term our topic is The Great Fire of London. We are learning some key facts such as when it happened, how the fire started and what caused it to spread so quickly.
A key focus in Maths this term is adding and taking away 10. This will help with adding and taking away 2 digit numbers. Please try to practice the 2, 5 and 10 times tables as much as possible.
In Science we are learning about Changing Materials. This week we have been investigating where ice melts the quickest and why.
READING:
• Please try to listen to your child read as often as possible – if you can manage ten minutes every night or every other night that will really help them make even better progress – lots of encouragement, praise and gentle support with sounding out difficult words. Talk to your child about the meaning of the book, too. Please ask me if you would like to talk about this in more detail.
• Don’t forget the children still love having stories read TO them – it is still a lovely treat to listen to a story, maybe last thing at night sometimes to relax tired brains!
You can arrange an appointment with me at any time if you want to talk to me about your child’s learning.
